Get people to link to it and appropriate key words to the meta data are the key tasks.

Change the title to "Midget Goat Pron Retro Fixies"

That should do it.

Depends on how you want it noticed. If you want google to show it when you type the URL in to google it can be pretty quick, say a week. If you want it to show when people type in a certain keyword it can take months of work to get it up the rankings unless the keyword is very unique. I may be wrong but that's my experience of it so far. Once google like your site then changes can show up in q couple of days

I don't think there is a simple way. Meta tags, links and then just be patient.

Meta tags don't do a lot nowadays tbh. It's all about pagerank.

my other half's business is on google places.. which is free but you need to set up.. and adwords.. which you pay per click for extra tag related publicity..

elaine, what do you mean by "get noticed by google"? - do you want to be higher in the search results or is it not regestering at all?

Google does a complete trawl of the net every 6 months, therefore if your site is older then 6 months google has noticed it. A new site (not a re-design but a new URL) can take up to this 6 months to be indexed by Google, submitting it potentially speeds up this process.

If you type site:yoursitesURL into Google it will show a indexing list for your site. If any information is shown in the list then Google has noticed your site. Which page of the Google search results it shows up on is a whole different issue. - This can also be checked if you would like to know.

put some of your keywords has h1 and h2 tags on the page, make them the same colour background and they won't be seen but google will pick them up

No, No, No. Please don't.

This is one of the quickest ways to get dumped by Google and fall onto page 1000 of the search results..
