I have a Nokia and I'd like to stop saving my SMS messages (both sending and receiving) - is there any easy way to do this?

Just stop cheating on your missus 🙂

But I've never found a way to stop it saving the incoming ones, you can easily stop it saving the sent ones - in the normal settings menus usually.

and how are you going to read your recieved sms if it isnt saved? it would probably be easier to change number and not tell anyone your number then they aint no texts to save, but that would be stupid.

Just delete them when you've read them

Okay, yes can delete when received but why do I have to keep all the sent messages - it's just annoying.

why would it be annoying? you don't have to look at them? my nokia saves the last 20 sent - can't say i've ever thought about it, let alone been annoyed by it. just tell your mistress you can't text her anymore as your wife might read them....

It's a while since I had a Nokia, but IIRC there's a 'delete all texts' option for Inbox, and saving Sent Items is a togglable setting.

On my phone there is an option to "keep a copy of sent sms". Untick it.

Just checked my phone, a Nokia 6301, and there is a toggle setting for saving sent messages.

Messages -> Message settings -> General Settings
