I've been (luckily) chosen to sit in one of the Movistar team cars during the Tour of Britain stage on Tuesday, but I need to get myself back to Newtown to then drive home.
Any suggestions, I've had a look at the train and it seems that the best option is to go via Shrewsbury?
Any better / faster options?

My BiL runs a taxi firm in Welshpool, you could ask for a good rate?
Hitch-hike.
Can you drop the car down tonight and then have it waiting for you tomorrow?
Those team cars always seem to have an empty bike slot in the middle of the rack. Ask nicely? ๐
Via Shrewsbury is the only way unless you want to take a punt on hitching.
Looks like it's the train then. Plan is to drive down from Manchester in the morning, drop the car in Newtown (ideally somewhere near the station) be with the team to the finish and train back from Abergavenny. Get back to Newtown late in the evening and then drive home to Stirling tomorrow night. It's going to be a long day of travel.
Haven't the team considered how you are meant to get back? Before the Tour I was at a freebie where they had a prize to win something similar but they also had a way for the winner to get themselves home after.
Unfortunately not, unless I can nick a bike off the car when no one is looking. In any case I've booked the train so that in the worst case scenario I've got a way to get back.
You might be better off getting a train from Shrewsbury to Newtown in the morning and then going to Shrewsbury in the evening. Direct train back and all that.
