Has anyone done them before? Thinking of it this year....
We have regularly done this with friends / family, but not with 'randoms' before.

I have a couple of friends who have done it and it worked well for them. In a location like yours it should be fine

I think the OP was talking about doing it for holidays, but the answer to your question is "no". The Revenue closed the hole on house swaps/part ex a few years ago.

Have thought about it for a while, but never done it with a stranger. We have a big house people could use for a get together but not in a tourist area. Might be nice to swap for somewhere more picturesque sometimes. We often rent cottages UK and abroad though and don't know if we could be bothered getting orgAnized to lock away valuables etc.

I have a verbal agreement with my elderly neighbour up the road that when she moves (end of terrace), we will buy her house, we are mid terrace,. Only 13 houses where we live and we want to stay put. No estate agent fees, might have to wait a few years but will be well worth it
.

We did a swap with a family from Vernon in BC. We swapped for 5 weeks, and swapped cars too, picking up each others cars at the airport. Worked brilliantly.

We'd met the fella working on a ski(bike) lift 2 summers earlier. We swapped details then and just kept in touch.

We got to ride bikes all over BC from Whistler to Nelson. What's not to like?
