...we’re away for 3 weeks this summer a friends cousin is going to stay and look after our cat and dog.

No payment is being made to her, do I need to let insurance know ?? Technically she’s a guest.

Thanks in advance

My insurance says 28 days, what does yours say?

No-one can tell you for sure without reading your policy wording.

If you can't do that yourself now, you could call them and ask?

28 days unattended I presume, which it's not.

Only relevant term I've seen is "no more than x-days unattended"

My broker seemed to think unattended meant without the people who would normally live there when this came up!

Maybe check your policy or call the insurance company if you can't find it?

(Sorry if this seems obvs)

My policy is 28 days unattended. Sounds like a standard clause.

‘Unattended’ should be specifically defined. Feel free to post a link to your wording if it’s available online and I’ll happily give it a read through.

Update
Have spoken to LV insurance and everything remains the same, only thing that isn’t covered is if the house sitter steals from the house.

Thanks all
