I am after a hotel room in Edinburgh for this Saturday night, but do you think I can find one?

What is going on up there?!?

Anyone know of any place where I could lay my head for the night that is clean, not too far away from city centre (a few miles or so), and not more than, say, 60-ish pounds?

Ah! S**t.

Is there a secret hotel up there I might not yet have come across that anyone knows about?

VERY doubtful. My family visit me here every year as my brother does the marathon - free places are in very short supply.

Glasgow is only 45mins away on the train (?)

Normally, I would be happy with slightly offbeat ideas (like a tent), or staying far out of the city, but this time, I arrive at the train station after 8 p.m., and need to be fresh for business by 9:00 the next morning in Leith.

15 min taxi ride

No chance! 15 mins to the outskirts maybe. I'd give it at least an hour if your going to Leith for 9am.....at least!

Edit - Just re-read your post, looks like your not travelling in rush hour. If its Sunday your heading to Leith 30mins will do.

I think Jodafett is referring to the weekend road closures in town for the marathon. Including London road / Leith. Definitly give yourself some extra time and maybe consider walking the last part if required.

Whereabouts is the meeting?

Just off Leith Walk. I can't remember the name of the cross street.
But to all, thanks again.
@Hels
Could you send me an email? I am in Edinburgh quite often, and could be interested in a let arrangement.
