Ok, we all know the hot weather brings out many more people than usual, but I'm having problems maintaining my usual 'live and let live' attitude.
I don't have a problem with people enjoying the outdoors and I'm a liberal type of guy, it's very specifically the failure to abide by 'take away what you bring' rule that results in litter covering the beauty spots of the land like some kind of post-apocalyptic fall-out. I was down at Richmond falls yesterday and found myself standing atop a rocky outcrop like a weeping native American as countless empty discarded Carlsberg cans bobbed through the water and empty doritos packets tumbled around the ground. I've tried rationalising it, seeing it as an inevitable consequence of beautiful weather. How do I stop myself fantasising about their painful deaths? I know that just because I spend more time in the outside than a lot of people doesn't give me more right to it when they do decide to emerge, but it's hard quelling the self-righteous part of me. Should I embrace the hatred?
Thanks for your understanding, help and support.
