[Closed] horizontal lines in email signatures, VML

Someone here where i work has created a html signature to use on messages sent by Lotus, in it are two horizontal lines in red. problem is they don't always appear, they appear when you create the message but disappear when you recieve?

The HTML file has been created in Word and is full of crap, i think i have found where the lines are created and it uses VML. problem i am having is decoding the file. is there a way of saving the word document to use more normal html tags? Tags that might work?
