There's me thinking at 54 I am getting on a bit and at least into late middle age but turns out I'm wrong

Every year I get older middle age starts later in life.
I'm 46. If you'd asked me 25 years ago I'd have said now by now I'd be defiantly middle aged.
But I'm still about 11 in my head.
Some say middle age is a state of mind.
