Anybody know of somewhere a little bit special to take future Mrs. 83 in August for our honeymoon?
Have searched but keep getting conflicting advice about weather, terrorism threats etc.
Seems like it's rainy or hurricane season pretty much everywhere in August! 🙁
She's expressed interest in Malaysia, anybody been there in at that time of year?
We haven't been out of the UK for quite a while, so somewhere a little bit exotic would be good!
Scilly isles
Lovely place I got married there
The brocures do NOT lie it is that nice
The Star Castle hotel is realy nice not cheap but worth it
We did Morocco for our honeymoon August past. Week on the coast at Essaouira - windy but not oppressively warm - about 30 degrees. Sunshine every day. Week in Marrakech, clear blue skies - 40 degrees, a little overwhelming for the first few days but fine after that.
It was awesome.
Mrs TM & I went to Peru end July beginning of August on '07 & had perfick time & weather.
Book the Inca trail and get a couple of days walking in too!
V big & pretty mountains. Also went to Jungle if you want hot!
Hawaii. Weather the same all year (hot, but not humid), speak English, week in waikiki for touristy stuff and shopping etc, then week on another island for beach and relaxing. Finish it off with short stop over in San Fran or LA on way home jobs a good'un.
Shame we got divorced!
These are the best places I could suggest for your luxury honeymoon:
1. Paris, France
2. Venice, Italy
3. Santorini, Greece
4. Caribbean Islands
5. Hawaii
6. Thailand
7. Zurich, Switzerland
8. Ireland
9. Madrid, Spain
10. Boracay, Philippines
11. Fiji
They are not in order so number 11 can be the number 1 best destination.
Me and the missus did a July honeymoon around california (hired a convertable mustang etc :-D) - it was ace. Lots of nice places to see and do (San Francisco, Monetery bay, pinicles national monument, sequoia national park, yosemite etc)...
Some photos here (must get round to uploading the rest!):

Drop me a mail at ewan at ewanpanter dot co dot uk and i'll send you a huge long email I sent to another guy who asked me questions about it!
We were set on Alaska in September when we wed, but were advised by a specialist travel company that it starts to shut down then. Did a bespoke tour of BC and Alberta instead in luxurious B&Bs. Was great. Still hanker after Alaska at some point.
I want to go to Wales for our honeymoon, other half wants to go to morzine. I don't mind either way. We aren't romantic though and are going in the motorhome much to the disgust of others 🙂 Is there anywhere special to her that you could surprise her with? One of the girls I work with just got back from a surprise holiday in marakech (sp?) as she travelled there when she was young and had always wanted to go back . She didn't have a clue and had an amazing time.
we went to Harris and stayed here
Without a doubt, the most special place I have ever visited.
Prices have gone up a fair bit though since we went.

I'm jealous Emma, my gf won't allow me to use the camper for our honeymoon in June, to make sure I can't use it she has decided that we are going to Canada mtb'ing. Not that I can complain...
We had our own volcano cave, here:

Best holiday I ever had (and I've had some pretty good ones!). The view from our terrace was immense; we didn't want to leave. After a week or so the owner came down and took us out for the day to make sure we saw some of the island!
I would say bad luck spooky but biking in Canada would be one heck of a trip to turn down for the sake of going somewhere in the camper!
Blimey, just noticed this got resurrected.
We went to Koh Samui in the end. Weather was great, just a few clouds and not too humid.
Unfortunately this happened on the way out clicky (which was the plane before ours 😮 pretty scary start to the holiday!)
If anybody else is thinking of going, i'd highly recommend an afternoon at the Institute of Thai Culinary Arts. Delicious! And even though I'm a complete cooking thicko I can knock up a decent curry from scratch and it's actually edible 🙂
We stayed here, which was very nice - private pool, lovely villa etc.
One thing to watch though is being charged exorbitant prices (£10+ each) for tiny bottles of sun creme, aloe vera etc which we were assured multiple times were complimentary (and were for sale in shops across the road for £0.50 ish 👿 ). Pretty piss poor from a big hotel chain.
Koh Samui in general is lovely though, all in all highly recommended. 😀
Edit: The Marizan caves posted above look amazing!
