I really have a yen at the moment to build my little one a balance bike,
She's barely walking yet, but just want to get going on it. Bit of a dad project! I got a mate to supply me with a few broken BMX frames to raid for tubing, so that's all covered; I just need some dimensions, heights, "toptube" lengths etc.
I know a few of you have done similar stuff, this would be an excellent opportunity to share pics of your craft!
Ponce 12" wheel raleigh from tip or £5 from char-i-dy shop, take off drivetrain and staballisers, cut BB housing down so it doesnt catch ankles, cut down seatpost and trim seat so can slam it reet down, ta-dah, build time <1hr. Continues to be patio fun well past progressing to 24" wheels!
