Had our fence done last week and the guy who did it mentioned that the pole carrying the power & phone lines is hollow.
Have contacted Western Power so will see what they say.
Anyone had a similar experience? Did they just replace the pole? Ideally we'd like the power to be under ground and there are 4 poles on the row, guessing they may have a similar issue as are the same age.

They do tend to decay from the inside. Most likely, the poles will just get changed if it's needed. They make just be marked as not suitable for climbing.

Underground IMG can be time consuming if there is any private property to cross (rather than just service).

Yep look for a Red ā€˜D’ nailed to the pole,both Bt and Power companies use this to mark poles as decayed and should be inline for replacing
