Any recommendations for general holiday insurance, medical insurance or combined stuff?

I use the BUPA one online, annual, covers me for everything including racing which is proving harder and harder to find these days. You can buy online at www.ihi.com

Depends what you want -reciprocal arrangements using the ehic card gives you a high level of cover - the main thing you don't have is repatriation for free with that. All medical treatments should be covered
I never bother with extra insurance on top
I used dogtag a few years ago. Never got to use the service luckily but did get some nice dogtags to wear.
Switch-Backs say no medical insurance (in addition to EIHC card), no riding.
And I did honestly wonder if there was any saving by combining to medical and travel insurance parts, or they are inherently linked.
Looks like they are one and the same. Can you tell it's been a while since I was abroad??
You can go without any ins other than the EIHC & you'll get decent treatment but if you need repatriating you'll have to pay it yourself or wait until you can easily travel again
