16 yo son's been asked to pipe on Hogmanay at an upmarket lodge. 2 slots - piping into dinner and then for the bells. Anyone know how much should he be asking for?
How long is he sitting around for between puffs?
I'd have thought a couple of hundred quid would be fair.

Dinner at 8, he'll probably bail out then til the bells. Remote lodge too - so not handy!
Thinking about it, possibly more.
The one night of the year when everyone wants a piper, and a posh lodge MUST have a piper...
Anyone know how much should he be asking for?
£100 to play, £200 to stop 😀
km79- tell me about it -esp when he's practising in the kitchen!
Cheers for that - all the pipers sites are a bit non specific about Hogmanay costs - guess its as much as poss.
So long as he's not expecting Dad's taxi to be operating then!
Fee + black cab home?
£300 and tips. Who's having the piper's dram?
Yep was thinking it needs to be the fee + taxi home.
Guess he'll just have to learn that the dram goes with the territory!
