Currently trying to pursue a carrer with the above aboard their cutters. I have been looking into requirements and what is needed and I meet all the criteria. Happy days!

I have been looking where to apply or who to speak to, and as of yet i can not find anything decent to work from. The website states the job centre website and that has proved useless and Ove even phoned up :(.

A google search reveals little or no further information on this either, can any body help me on this please?

You probably won't find it unless you spell it correctly.......

Hello the Cutters are now part of the UKBA, no longer 'Customs' or HM Revenue & Customs although they work close together they (UKBA and HMRC) are 2 seperate departments.

Generally they only recruit from within the home department or elsewhere within the civil service. For 'Officer' grade posts (bottom of the ladder!) you either become a deck officer or engineer. I doubt you'd be able to be taken on directly onto a cutter crew from outside the Civil Service or the UKBA. In addition you need to hold relevant qualifications or be willing to undertake them, boat handling stuff, boat mechanic stuff! Basically, unless you're an existing civil servant or UKBA officer you will not get a post on the Cutters. Competition is always very strong with those who are in the dept and are ex Navy etc.

Good Luck!

Even if you get a job your background/security checks will take years!
