Hey fellas do any of you know what to do in this situation? My car is in the garage having bodywork done under insurance. I have a courtesy car which some dik has dented and not left a note. Do I have to pay out of my own pocket or does it go through my insurance again? Cheers

Whenever I've had a hire or courtesy car the hire company's insurance has always had a fairly hefty excess for which the driver has been responsible. Normally they'll have had you sign some paperwork on collection and given you a copy which should contain the salient points hidden away in the small print.

You pay unfortunately. There's probably a huge excess too.

That depends on the courtesy car agreement that you must have signed.

Are you paying for insurance on the courtesy car from the provider?
Or did you have to sign something saying that you would organise cover from your insurer?

If you haven't arranged cover with your own insurer in advance, then you can't claim from them.

I would've thought contacting your insurance co would be the best idea.

What @robbiespierre says. I suspect you'll have to pay an excess

Chipsaway ASAP

I had a dent on a lease car that was due to go back in two days- £50 sorted as new by a dents guy that comes to your work etc.

Same with scratches- circa £90 with chipsaway.

DONT CONTACT THE GARAGE. They might say 'hey its an old car/lets have a look/shouldnt be a prob'.

Then they'll charge youfor a full bumper prep and respray.
