Hi, I have moved my turntable to a more accessible part of the room so that I'll actually use it sometimes! The problem is that the ground wire doesn't reach the amp now. Will this cause a problem? All info gratefully accepted!
Yes it will probably hum like mad-perhaps deafeningly so--make sure the volume is turned down if you do try it.
An earth lead can't be hard to extend, can it?

No but I am intrinsically lazy. Is it just a case of finding some wire and some tape?
In lighter news, going through my old LPs has caused me to find the old Røyksopp album. 'whoo are you, do da doo da dooooo' Awesome!

Bare the ends, twist together, solder, if possible, then wrap with insulating tape. Even better slip some heat-shrink sleeving over the wire before joining, then slide over the join and heat with a match.
Make sure you get the earth wire extension the right way round!

I had a quick google earlier for super-expensive grounding cables, but no - definitely a niche for big sales I think
Well played Sir 😀
Deffo solder it. Small signal level, big effect.
Why not move the amp with it?
