Brilliant. My father saw him play at the Isle of Wight Festival in '70.
Just got around to watching this. I never knew they toured supporting the Monkeys! No surprise that one didn't end well.

I've got a friend in Portland Oregon who saw him in one of his first gigs. The guy is the guitar playing chair of music at the university there. He said Hendrix pretty much changed the goalposts. Good though he was he was supported by Vanilla Fudge that night that blew Jimi away.
The Fudge came back as top of the bill but sucked, they were supported by an unknown English band called Led Zeppelin who he said were the best band he ever saw live.
