Hi all,

Having a bit of trouble finding decent travel insurance.

- Want all the standard stuff (medical cover, repatriation, personal belongings etc etc).
- Will have 2 cameras with me, each worth around £200, and probably my laptop too, so a decently high minimum value for individual items (ie not £100).
- Reasonably priced.
- Good reputation.
Oh and the moon on a stick...

All of the ones I've looked into have failed on one or more of the above.

I have to declare an existing injury, but as it's not too major (dislocated shoulder surgery) I think I'm best just going with a normal insurance company, rather than one that specializes in disabilities.

So any thoughts/recommendations? Who has had to claim, and been happy with the outcome?

Ta, Duane.

(Trip is worldwide exc. US, for around 35 days.)

We used Virgin http://uk.virginmoney.com/virgin/travel-insurance/index.jsp and took out a yearly insurance, maybe some help.

Gah, every time I find a company that has good cover, reasonable price etc, I google them and get endless "did not pay out" "do not use" reviews :/

Can anyone recommend a company that they were actually happy with, especially if they had to claim (they are all lovely to deal with until you want money back from them it seems...)

Ta, Duane.

To be fair, most people only review insurance companies when they've got an axe to grind. I'd take any reviews with a pinch of salt.

Yeah true, that's a fair point. Guess they'll all be as bad as each other?

Anyone used InsureWithEase?

I use Insureandgo, mainly because they had the best sports cover.

Never had a claim, thankfully, but cover and price is perfect, IMHO.

I use a company called ACE (yeah, I know it sounds a bit ACME), they provide our business insurance but they also do personal. They've been pretty good though not sure if they do a moon on a stick. 😕
