Katie has to make an advert for her homework. It involves using a camcorder to make a DVD

Our camcorder uses miniDV and we make DVDs via Pinnacle Studio, however she has to get the raw footage from the miniDV to a disc, as the school dont have the facility, and do the editing at school.

How does she do it, any help will be appreciated

Tracey

Wont let them bring it home, she would need to stay late at school which isnt an option due to train times

Seems a bit unreasonable for them to ask for such a thing to me, I was joking above but what if you don't have a Camcorder all all and like you say staying late isn't an option for all kids.

Storyboard it instead. The thought process and target customer research is much more important than the "fun" bit.

That's a ridiculous request anyway. What's the point in setting a task without having/providing the facilities to actually do it. And not everyone will have the facilities at home.

If you attach the camcorder to PC (firewire I guess), does it show up as a drive in "my computer"? MAybe you could just drag & drop contents somewhere.

Either that or import to pinnacle & output immediately to dvd (does it offer you various formats?)

Use windows movie maker to do the capture and then use Nero (or equiv) to burn a data disk, of these captured files

If you have a dvd recorder in the house...think you can attach and play back the camcorder into a dvd-recorder.
Otherwise as above...firewire (most likely) cable from camcorder to pc and playback and record into Windows Movie Maker etc.
