I have an old Austin A30 that I want to sell, but want to transfer the reg number to my main car so I can then sell it at my leisure. But I want to replace the old reg with a non-transferable age related plate.
How do I do it ? Is it fairly straightforward or nightmarish???

You'll need the v5, tax and an MOT for the donor and recipient vehicles, a form, the transfer fee and an appointment at your local VRO for them to inspect your old nail.
They'll do the rest. They'll make you an appointment, piak around under your bonnet then issue a replacement number to the donor and update the relevant docs.
If you haven't got v5's, mot's etc it gets more complicated up to impossible. Give your local VRO a call for direct gen.
