A friend of mine has just moved into a flat and there are storage heaters that they've not used before. There is no Room Stat and they are cold.
How do you switch them on?

Should be a switch on wall next to them, should be an input and output. Input = how much energy goes IN them, Output=how quickly that energy comes out. If you don't want to run out of heat, leave the output closed all the time, and only vary input with temperature.
They take a day or so to catch up when temp varies, or you switch them on. If he only switched on today, first heat will be tomorrow morning.
Be prepared for the bill - THTC or Economy 7/10 both are expensive, anything else is horrendous....!
