Unless I can set Chrome to pretend to be a mobile browser perhaps?
I have about 20kbps (that's kiloBITS!)
It's doing my noggin in! I try to access the mobile versions of sites but certain ones autodetect and throw me back to the full desktop version.
Opera compresses things which should help a little.
Lynx if you're using 2 cups and a bit of string...
you can turn off all images in chrome, all plug ins and java etc. should help a bit.
You might get away with changing your user agent string to something mobile. That's probably how the auto-detect is working.
I got it to emulate a Galaxy tab...
Living in 1999?
No, 30 miles North of Aberdeen. In 1999 I was enjoying must faster speeds on dialup.

Or use a plug-in.
Well done - I was just coming back to this thread, having remembered how I did it in Chrome (had looked in settings, but didn't remember initially that I needed to go into dev tools). Though it's changed from what it says in that first article.
