I've got one of these:

It's great, btw, but I want to mount it on my head. L&M don't do a headband that will fit it, they only do one for their other lights that have a small head unit and separate battery.

Does anyone know of a head strap system for some other similar light that might fit? After all it's got the same sized handlebar mount as all the others. I do have a helmet mount that could maybe help but strapping that onto another strap would cause stability issues. The only other thing I can think of is to use velcro straps wrapped around the body of the thing to secure it to the strap from an old headtorch or something.

I just found the USE Exposure one that would fit, it's pretty generic, but it doens't look very stable at all.

Is there meant to be an image of your light included in your OP ?. It seems that you have an L and M light, but I have no idea which model it is.

Ta.. is it beefy? I have a very old Petzl, the mini kind from about 18 years ago with a tiny teeny filament bulb in it, you can barely see to walk by it.

Actually, there's a thought. I wonder if I could replace that bulb with an led?

That is a small head unit with separate battery pack though, right? it clips onto your forehead? Wouldn't work with mine, I need something that goes on the side like the USE Joystick one:

That would be good if it worked but it looks nowhere near stable enough.

You can get some pretty powerful light and small head lights for caving etc from outdoor shops for about 10 - 20 quid. I'd get something designed for what I want to do.

I just ordered this cheapo thing from Amazon. Only a little more than the USE strap and it's all ready to go.

It may turn out to be crap, I'll let you know. Now I just need a battery charger that can charge three bloody AA cells on their own.. grr..

I was offering you the strap, not a light set. 🙂

Your light has a wrap around, rubber strap. That would wrap around the head straps I use with the 401.

My head straps / bands are similar to this:

Thats what the offer was for. So that you could try it and see.
But the light you've ordered looks like it will be just the ticket. What is the task ?, walking the dog, running ?.
🙂

Can you not get some elastic strapping or rucksack strap webbing and sew your own?

Run in your bike helmet, it would be very easy to trip over running in the dark. If your worried about looking weird just keep shouting "come back with my bike you thieving scumbag" as you run along.
