Minster first...Jorvik 2nd .....?
Thanks.
Railway museum.
Minister is silly expensive! If you like history get the Jorvik multi place pass, do Barley Hall and the two mini museums on the city walls. Worth walking the walls if the weather is Ok. Train museum is free. Tea at Bettys is cool. We booked the tea rooms upstairs although that was also silly expensive but really good. If you're driving in use the park and ride, works really well.
Jorvik first as the queues can get a bit bad.
Stumpyjon..please tell me about this park and ride as i am coming from w.midlands.. Where best to park?
Last time I was in York I used the Park & Ride at the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet which is just off the A64 dual carriageway.
York is one of those places you can just wander around and see something unique. There are quite a few smaller churches which are worth looking into. A walk round the walls and the Railway Museum are a must. Loads of really good characterful pubs as well.
Sorry, might be a bit late but they're all around the city, follow the signs. Free parking, couple of quid return to the city centre. Easy to use and regular.
