By bike, tonight, please. There's a multitude of roads but some are quite windy and the drivers don't seem nice.. plus I only have commuter lights so streetlights and/or cyclepaths would be really useful.. I'm on the hybrid so fire-road or paths are ok.

That's my commute every day. Here is my route, which is a lot of off road stuff, so you need decent lights, but it may give you some ideas. This takes you to the Southern Industial estate, from North Farnborough.

Depends where in Bracknell you're going - from Fbro Main station you could go:

North over the railway then right onto Highgate Lane/straight on past Fbro North, over the crossing & BVR then left onto the mighty Blackwater Valley Path.

Follow that N to Frimley, pootle past the traffic in Frimley then whizz up the cycle path on the A325, nip in left just past the hospital & head for Wilders Close to go over the M3 [s]foot[/s]bridge, up Brackendale Rd, right/left/right/left through Camberley, up Kings Ride then straight on through Swinley on the fire roads.

I need to get to the Hilton, or in other words the Lookout. Left something there last week!

But like I say, I don't have good lights so I would like to avoid the deep dark forest...

I'm sorry Mol, I'm afraid I can't help you to get to Bracknell, as quite frankly I don't want you going to Bracknell. ๐Ÿ˜

I have your best interests at heart.

PeterPoddy could help you though.

dumb question... but if you're training it from reading with your bike... why not stop off at bracknell on the way to f'bro instead of heading back out in the dark?

I came from Cardiff this morning through Reading, but I'm staying in Farnborough all week. The item I have left behind I would quite like to have with me this week, and it's always good to get a ride in isn't it?

Even if Bracknell is involved?

I just wanted a route that was mostly lit or on cycleways.

Plus I left my GPS at home so I can see all this intricate navigation is going to result in an epic adventure ๐Ÿ™‚

Just give it up as a bad job, dump the bike (send grid reference please) and hire a small car. I have my allen keys and spanners ready to strip the bike!

TooTall, do you need bike bits or something? You could just ask, I've got most stuff in my garage.. ๐Ÿ™‚

I think I am going to have to go up the A3025 Forrester's Way - I'll get stark bollock lost in Swinley forest - it's hard enough in the flippin daytime.

Phil - only if you come with me and show me the way ๐Ÿ™‚ 6pm at F'boro Main?

i'm off the bike at the moment molly ๐Ÿ™ recovering from self-inflicted riding injuries and had a few more hours work on my right arm on friday.

you're more than welcome to borrow a troute light if you like though dude, i work in Reading near the town center and live next to swinley so it wouldn't be too hard to organise getting them to you ๐Ÿ˜€

@molly - how about posting on the Trolls forum - lots of them are in/around Farnbrough & might be able to lend you some lights or even tag along for the spin.

only way I can think of top of my head is go through Sandhurst, pick up Crowthorne road, go through Crowthorne and pick up Bracknell road (B3348) those roads have street lights so you should be ok.

Google maps should give you a idea. Sorry for rough idea on tea brake so not much time to give a better route.

Jay

Problem is, every direct route goes through the woods. Hmm...
