which home base used to make but have discontinued. Raw aluminium or similar. I have tried stripping some cheap folded steel ones which works well but they are a bit flimsy for what I want. Anyone seen anything similar? Can't find anything via google.....

If you are not bothered for an exact match then just google "cast shelf bracket".
Screwfix have some heavy duty brackets in white you could paint.
yeah, been through all that. a few casters seem to have made them bespoke but that's all I have found. Could be a gap in the market perhaps
