I'm looking for a word that my addled brain has let slip. It is of Russian origin, begins with the letter 'A', and is defined as 'concentrating on work'.
Many thanks in advance.

Put the phrase:
russian word concentrating on work
into Google and the top result is a Wikipedia article on Gulags. Pretty sure that whilst work can sometimes be likened to a gulag that is not the word you are looking for...
