Long story short. Best mate has been under the weather for a while (long part of the story).
Booked him and me on the dyfi Enduro as a bit of a reset and birthday present - neither of us have been cycling in a while.
We got out through the Winter to get into some kind of shape (starting as middle aged weekend warriors with questionable chance of getting round in one piece). That alone improved his condition immeasurably.
We've booked the ferry from Ireland, but he left the accommodation to me. Just checked and everything is full, from camping through to B&Bs. Balls!
Has anyone any ideas (sensible) or have booked accommodation that they want to sell on, due to cancellation or surplus ?
I've contacted the organisers to see if they can squeeze two small tents into the campsite, but no response.
I'd chance some 'wild' camping, but his condition makes him somewhat sensitive to a lack of certainty, so I'm concerned all the hard work will fall through at the last minute....
At this point, any help or ideas welcome.
Cheers.
The field campsite never fills up. Doubt it has this year so don't stress. If that fails Aberystwyth is about 20mins away and should have loads of accommodation too. Cleric has a nice campsite just outside aber too. Also about 20mins away.
We love staying at the Gwerniago campsite in Pennal.ย Lovely people run it, always have spaces even when the website says it's full.ย Give them a call.
If its two lads then try hereย https://independenthostels.co.uk/members/toadhall/ it's a 2 min pedal to the start / finish area, you can take your bikes inside the lounge, it's definitely quirky & you'd probably not take your loved one there for a romantic break, but it suited us in 2017 & I'd stay there again. Cheap too. The bog seat is, err, vintage.
PS - if your planning on eating out in town, pre book a place, it's very busy and you'll struggle to get in.
Try Aberystwyth. It has a lovely sea front/sunsets and plenty of accommodation/restaurants/pubs. Much better option than Mach in my opinion
You can camp in my garden if you like, i live in Mach.
Just wanted to say thanks for the responses.... toadhall locked and loaded; will be an adventure.
twinw4ll - I hope I meet you out and about in Town ... owe you a pint for such a generous offer.
cheers
