Short of it is he has a failing USB HDD that he needs imaging onto another drive.
Rather than him drive up to me in Cannock I am asking the STW world if anyone can help, he's more than happy to sort some beer tokens out for whoever can help but its a desperate job he wants to sort tonight and is just about to go to PC world for another USB Drive and come up here

Does it have to be tonight? If he can wait until tomorrow I'd recommend Personic Computer on NOrth ST in Southville. Very helpful and can do the recovery whilst you wait I think.
