Daughter has maths homework, here's an example
a(x+b) = c
When asked for x I can quite easily work out that x = c/a - b
However we are also being asked for x = the rest of the equation above and below a single line
I'm stumped, please help - I've put numbers in, but still can't get it.
Ta
x=(c-ab)/a
because b = ab/a, and you need to get both terms over common denominator, i.e. a.
🙂 I have not done maths in years, it comes flooding back...
" above and below a single line"
eh?
Mowgli understood the question Stoner - thanks Mowgli. Just need to check it to confirm
common denominator,
Mowgli understood the question Stoner
so do I now 😉
Yup, all works with numbers - cheers Mowgli

How did her date go?
curfew'd? 😉
Isn't that something to do with Star Trek II, the genesis device and Bill Shatner shouting "Kaaaaaaaaaaahn!" 😀
Ha, nah. It's an award winning free educational site, mainly maths and physics.
