We will be in touch
Afternoon
In a nutshell, I know nothing at all about laptops, I've never had one.
I've recently bought a wireless printer thinking I could print from my tablet, but I'm struggling with it.
The only two things I want from this laptop is the ability to print using my wireless printer, and to allow me to use Garmin Connect ,cos I've just bought a garmin edge touring, it doesn't need to be able to do anything else.
The cheaper the better, and I don't mind refurbs. I looked at 3000rpm.com after I saw it recommended on here, but there's quite a few laptops on there, and they all look the same to me.
Ta
What tablet?
There's a 50/50 chance your printer is not working.
I'm useless with pooters but sometimes our iPad connects with printer sometimes not.
I'd second that. Wireless printers seem to be almost universally shocking for some reason.
I had a quick peak at that site, the Dell 620 would be fine for basic use and pretty cheap. Prefer Lenovo personally, but I think the dells were cheaper and pretty decent.
Tablet is a nexus 10. Printer is HP 5520. Printer is working, I've managed to print something, but I couldn't get it to print the whole picture, and I couldn't figure out why for the life of me, it was a British cycling halfords voucher, I ended up taking the tablet to the store to show them the code 😛
I just thought a cheap laptop would make things easier, like when I had a proper computer and printing was a straightforward couple of clicks.
We have a 5520 and you will have issues at some point. Sorry!
I had a quick look round for you and it seems like you are not the only one!
Found on another forum and may help you.
Thanks seavers I'll have a trawl through that lot a bit later.
The nexus is connected with the printer though, I'm just not finding it very easy to use.
I can't figure out how to alter sizes etc.
The halfords voucher, I had to send it to my email account and then send it to the printer, but I couldnt work out how to resize it so it printed whole, I kept ending up with half the voucher missing.
Its more than likely me not the tablet and printer, I just thought a cheap laptop might be the easier option for me. On my old computer it was right click using the mouse and away you went, I was hoping I could get back to something like that.
ahh I see, it might just be down to finding an app for your tablet that will give you a preview before you print. They way you are going about it now the app may just print what is on the screen and not the whole document.
Even if you have to pay a few pounds for one that gives you what you want it's way cheaper than a laptop. I would be doing some reading up on apps and if nothing works then a cheap laptop might be your best bet.
Ah I never thought of apps, I'll have a look down that road. Here's a whole new headache coming up now 😆
My HP wireless printer works pretty well. However functionality via tablets/phones is severely limited.

Hopefully not! you can download HP ePrint from the Android store. Looks like it's free plus you can preview what you are going to print. Should work with your HP printer!
Well well well, bloody apps huh, whoever would have thought it 😳
Just downloaded a couple of apps, and I think they may be the answer.
I've never used apps before for anything 😕
And you should have seen the guys face in halfords when I took my tablet in instead of a voucher 😀
Many thanks everyone, now where's that garmin thing to play with.
