Can anyone recommend any dog/pensioner friendly walks and good pubs/restaurants?

Cheers.

Wilton park is a good park for a walk. A few reasonable walk in a brochure available from tourist info centre, or a google search. Lots of horse riding trails that can ne walked. I like heip hill. Good pubs are in short supply. I'm afraid.

Wilton Lodge Park is lovely and ideal pensioner walking.

Not much in the way of decent pubs or restaurants that I am aware of, perhaps try Turnbulls Deli, food in the Galashiels branch is good so expect Hawick would be equally so.

The cafe in Tower cinema place is pretty good as well, there is always an exhibition or event on there which makes it a worthwhile outing.

The Denholm Meet is about 10 minute drive east and it always gets good review and feedback.

Other than that, well it is Hawick.......
