A spokesman for Oldham Council said "a genuine error was made by staff".
How on earth did they manage that?

I'm guessing it had a peel off cover on it that they only removed once the sign was up.
How they then justified leaving it like that... the mind boggles.

I work in the signage industry and Its not that uncommon!
Fitters spend all the time at the back checking its at the legal height tightened correctly then tools in van off to tea break no one walks round the front bet they will next time though!
