Loving this series - more kid friendly, back to basics, good fun.

Found the Matt Smith era a little pretentious and self referential tbh, although I liked him as the Doc.

Liked yesterday's one with the mummy. Had one kid doing the modern equivalent of hiding behind the sofa by playing his ipad games with headphones on.

Don't know if this series was a bit rushed, but some of the writing seems like it could have done with another couple of drafts.

I think the basics are sound, but the character of the new Doc seems a bit all over the place.

Needs to be a bit crueler - leaving the fate of the Earth in the hands of the humans last week was good, but his apology/explanation undermined that a bit.

The grumpy old man with a heart of gold is a bit too clichéd.
Ditch the heart of gold, a bit more nasty, Hartnellesque ambiguity and he could be on the money.

I'll get flamed for this, but get rid of Clara (and the writers) and let us have a proper dark Doctor for a few episodes.

I still have the last two on the Sky box and I can't see me watching any more at the rate this series has went. I could really do without the whole "Clara needs a boyfriend" garbage that's went on and the villains seem to be tacked on only for the purpose of a bit of alien story.

Shame really, Peter Capaldi could have been good had they not decided to write him like a pensioner with Alzheimers

but get rid of Clara
