I heard a set of these on someones laptop the other day and I thought they ssounded brilliant for a mobile set-up!

Where is the best place to buy these? And is there anything else I should consider?

Thanks

A freind of mine was looking at getting BOSE dock for his Ipod but for the same money ended up with this set up. He got his at Richer Sounds

Thanks.

As I say - I was really impressed with the sound from an ipod and a laptop. They can go pretty darn loud too!

They are ace! Got a pair for £60 on fleabay. A common problem is the two halves of the left (non-volume control) stick coming apart. Didn't want to use glue as it might fog up the plastic, so rubber bands hold mine together now. Still ace, though!

it also depends on how high you have ripped the mp3 on the ipod

I read somewhere recently that HK have just updated them. They do sound very good, a mate's got a set attached to his 27" iMac and they certainly chuck out some volume. B&W have just released a pair of computer speakers that are apparently very very good, but they're around £3-400, so the out to be.
A Zeppelin is designed for docking an iPod not for attaching to a desktop or laptop computer.
(sigh. Shakes head).

Have often wondered about the Zeppelin - how much are you paying for the styling ? - I can't help thinking that you should be able to out-perform an all-in-one box with a well chosen stand-alone amp and a pair of speakers. H+K Soundsticks - I use a pair of the Mark 1 version (which connected via USB) with a Macbook Pro - they still sound good after nearly 10 years of daily use.

Zeplin (sp) is a lifestyle product.

I've got Soundsticks in my 'playroom' - the older USB ones. They must be getting on for eight or nine years old now!

Still look good, and the sound is indeed very good. Am sure there's others out there that would suffice but, for me, they're a timeless design.

Bit fragile but sound okay for piezoelectric whatnots.

Had some, loved them, wasn't using them, ended up selling them to fontmoss on here, don't exactly regret it as I wan't using them, but they were good and I did like the look of them as well. Helped pay for a Big Earl Wet which has been great so not all bad. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone though.

They're not exactly mobile!

IMO computer connected to proper amp (or mini hi-fi) + proper speakers is far better. The H&K's are fine when sat close but don't fill a room with sound if thats what you are after.
