Off for a uplift day at Hamsterley soon, anything I should know? Was planning on taking my Bottlerocket as it copes fine with F.O.D. Stiniog etc any facilities, bike shops and how are the trails running? Cheers

Descend Hamsterley are a fine bunch of chaps, they keep the trails running well nearlly all year round. The bottlerocket should be fine. They sell water, pop, tea coffee, confectionary, and snacks from the descend cabin at the top of the trails so you won't starve. (uplifts run thick and fast so don't plan on nipping in every 10 minutes, but there is a most welcome lunch break)

Bikanic Yorkshire have taken over the old cabin halfway down the trails and provide a handy parts and repairs service.

Get somebody to show you the trails and if in doubt get there nice and early and walk them. everything seems to get trickier after the bikanic cabin.
