I think that rather than cutting away around the rings of shame, you could have carved the pumpkin thinner to allow light through and then avoided the two little propping up pillars.
They spoil an otherwise spoiled pumpkin.
Nice work surface but not sure why you'd want pool cue's in a kitchen
