If you're not reading the thread to avoid spoilers, how are you going to see the tips for ranking up fast?
Seriously though, for a thread running to 30 pages there are very very few spoilers and a good many top tips. There's one big spoiler though, so scan lightly over any talk of the ending.

Some chap killed me, so I shot him and he killed me again. But then I killed him. This is how GTA works and it is beautiful.

Yeah had someone take a personal vendetta agains me for some reason went on for ages until I took him out with a high speed car throwing him half way across town.

I went online earlier but it kept telling me none of you lot are online. I think I have some learning to do as I was pretty crap in a couple of missions. But then only having a pistol when others had automatics is a bit of a disadvantage.

Yeah I found the pistol thing annoying. You can buy an SMG at L5 though, which isn't far. I ended up in a team death match type event, seemed fun, then miss njee20 got home!

Drac - the chasing thing was weird yesterday - I was having a vendetta against someone yesterday and thought you were him/her.... on a bike I didnt have much of a chance! I was tempted to put a cap in your head.... but figure we need to start a PHUK mission and look after each other!

Hahaha yeah was fun chasing you on your motorbike, you can highlight crew members in the options screen the show up with a red circle around them on a the map. If I was trying to kill I'd have just clipped your bike with my car.

My Mrs has just gone out for the day, kids gone to Granny's so just me and do in the house and I'm stuck inside as dare not venture to far from a toilet, stupid bug. So some serious GTA V for me today.

Make sure you get online before end of October - they are adding $500000 dollars to your online game character to apologise for the loss of player chars in the first weeks.

You only have to have gone inline anytime in October to qualify.

I've probably played about 3-4 hours so far online and only have $30k. This is a bit disturbing. I'll be able to buy a quality apartment (although I'm not sure why)

And i've just been playing online for a bit. I was hosting the mission where you go and steal a meth RV. Got 3 lads along with me. Two apparently couldn't even find it and the other jumped out of the car half way there so I had to do the whole mission by myself and they all benefitted!

Has anybody else done the skydiving and DH race mission with Franklyn?

Brilliant fun.

My Mrs also out on a girls night out so expect to see me online at some point.

Would be good to get a crew together hunting some french kid down for screaming down his mic.

Well had a right good laugh again with Mark and an long time gaming friend doing some missions, team missions are superb fun trying to deliver and item or escort someone whilst being hunted down. We even got a bike race around the airport in too superb stuff.

Oh and a mic helps.

It was great fun - more laughing than talking! I think the mic does help especially if we can get enough people to compete in LTS...!!

Any Bluetooth headset work?

Yeah a few times I crashed due to laughing too much the comedy factor in the game is what helps make it great.

Yeah multiplayer provides some quality comedy moments.

I've sent a request fort he crew too. This is the first game I've bothered to play online but I think I need some online buds to make it worthwhile.

whats it like compared to GTA IV? Didn't get on with that one, found the gameplay a bit slow and the graphics a bit dark and dull. Loved the GTA I had on my PC though (prob II or III).

Im at a loose end today and thinking if getting it... even my mrs is expressing an interest

Graphics are sharper and brighter than IV for sure. Gameplay is a bit more crime capery but quite a lot more twisted and black. A lot of women apparently are not comfortable watching their partners play it where they had been with previous versions.

Overall though it's a step up in terms of scope and content. Well worth it.

Does one need a mic for the online to work? Just had a look for my headset, and looks like I chucked it out with the xbox box.

Yup you can that's how I use to do it.

I mostly listen to FlyLo FM for some reason. Had an interesting online moment the other day, some bloke robbed a gas station but because I was near him people started shooting at me so I shot one and the police were chasing. I eventually dumped my car to get the star gone and when I went back to get it, the other feller was getting in it to drive away.

Result: Long-range pistol headshot. Still not entirely sure how I managed a single shot kill but he wasn't too happy.

any tips on fun stuff to get up to in single player once you have completed the main story line? mostly im driving round looking out for people at the side of the road needing stuff and buying all the buildings.

oh and how do you buy the vinewood houses, I marked one to go view as trevor but I couldn't get in it or work out how to pay for it!

Was playing survivor earlier - great fun and $20k if you get through all the phases!

- its fun - just shoot like crazy but it helps if you work together. Not only do you get lots of points I now am the proud owner of a heavy duty sniper rifle, lots of grenades, a mini gun and an assault rifle - all FOC :).

Got a game with Grevioustim and Kola_Bear (sp) last night, mainly in free play driving around killing randoms and helping each other out when in trouble.

I think they disappear when you run out of ammo.

Two people off my xmas card list.... gave it a try during lunch and lost all my new guns 🙁

Did try a survivor round by myself and got to round 4 (of ten) and picked up some nice guns - might be an idea to give a survivor round a try and the beginning of the session and then kill people with the newly acquired guns 🙂

The game told me last night that other players had reported me and I was in danger of being booted off the session for bad behaviour

I though killing people was the whole point of GTA. I don't have a headset so could abuse anyone even if I wanted to

My understanding is if you're a bit of a dick, you get flagged as a bad sport. Eventually you just get thrown into areas full of you little rotters who can't play nice 8)

I am now 'in the crew' and should be on at some point tonight, will keep an eye out for the rest of you!
