OK, Word 2003 seems crap at Venn diagrams.. I can find several online 'tutorials' for how to create them, and I can get a basic diagram up... the rubbish bit is editing it!! Can you put text in the segments without bodging it with a text box? Can you edit the size of the indivudual circles without scaling the whole diagram? All the 'Format AutoShape' options for size and position are greyed out... It really does seem a bit crap.
Publisher is a little bit better for things like that.
Try PowerPoint to create the diagram then cut and paste into word.
You can specify transparency etc. Which should help.
I feel your pain.
Office 2007 is far better at this sort of stuff. Personally I do all my diagrams in Excel and then copy or embed in Word. Would suggest you try this with 2003 too.
cheers folks, I used publisher in the end and had it done within a minute or two... copied and pasted over into word. Now why can't word just allow me to do that in the first place.
Actually, after I pasted, I had no end of faff with get the Word text to format properly, so I just saved the publisher chart as a jpg, cropped it, then put that into word.
Happy days!
