My wife sends me out with a squirty thing full of chemicals every night to murder any aphids that I can find. I must have poisoned thousands of the poor little sods and i'm feeling a bit sorry for them.
Are they realy doing any harm to the plants or am I mearly the blunt instrument of a bug hating monster?
Start farming ladybirds instead - they'll soon sort your aphids out.
I can't be arsed. I'll stick to mass murder as it sounds like less effort.

Or for the ultimate credit crunch solution, start eating the aphids yourself!
I received ladybirds in the post in error (wrong address). Freaked me out when I opened the package to see what was inside!
Pop some water and a tinsy amount of washing up liquid into a spray bottle - still chemicals but less than the commercial stuff.
