my vote would have to go to this badboy [img] [/img] it's just the coolest bike EVER!

as for a real bike, there are lots of great bikes to choose from, but for me it would have to be the suzuki gsxr [img] [/img] (it was between this and the kawasaki ninja).have always lusted after a gsxr (have never been able to afford one though).one day 😉
they're just baddass 😀

I'm going to have to disagree. Love the Bimota Tesi 1D for being total bonkers:
[img] [/img]

but if I had all the money in the world, I'd still only have one bike:

A Buell!, I used to have an XB9 Firebolt but had to get rid as it just about shaked itself to death! Got a Kawasaki ZZR1400 at the moment, surely has to be the best bike ever 8)

Seeing and hearing this rip round Donnington park in 1999 meant I had to have a bike. Sadly not one of these but a CBR600 which was great fun. The 500 era was fantastic, i still miss the smell of two stroke at the races.

Maico 490

A bike so good HRC allegedly bought 10 of them to try and understand how a tiny family run factory in Germany could build perfection. Truth is it was luck more than anything 😆

Having had a Buell, but not an XB, I loved it. But it certainly wouldn't be the only bike I owned.

Ducati 998s - owned one for 11 years . Loved looking at it but then realise that riding it didn't live up to the legend

But it is the sexiest looking bike on the planet ... even after all these years

Or then there is the Britten ...

It's pretty much always a Yamaha XS650 chopper of some description though

today it's this one..

RC30 for me. I rode once once and it scared me for ever.

I had a 350 powervalve which was a great laugh but selling it was something that had to be done if I wanted to keep breathing.

Only honda could have built such a technological marvel and sell it to the general public.

redsox.

My old man used to race a Husky just like that.

It had a huge gap between the seat and the tank with a big bolt sticking up. 😯 .

what the **** were they thinking when the [s]designed[/s] threw that together.

some quality choice here, anything that was in PB in the mid late eighties rang my bells, love the brittens, but my first thought on seeing this thread was either

Kev on the RGV he could drift and wheelie at the same time..

Nah. I had one after two 350LC's. Though it'd be brill, but it just felt too grown up.

Best bike I ever had was a Kawasaki ZX9R C1 -whether it was flat-out on an Autobahn, Donington Park to Aylesbury in under an hour or commuting in all weathers. It was brill. Put 50k on it.

But best bike ever - it depends.

For my era, it'd be a toss up between Z900, 350LC, first oil-cooled GSXR750, RC30, GPz900r and maybe the 916 as a late entrant.

Devil's advocate re the NR750:

Oval piston tech failed on the track and was too expensive to mass produce for the road.

Yep, the styling was massively innovative (Tamburini acknowledged it as an influence on the 916) and it featured all the latest tech, but all that stuff would have appeared anyway sooner or later.

For utter road-legal crazy-ape, bonkers mentalness, it surely has to be the RG500

[img] [/img]

A mate had one. It was insane. His quote was 'It'll pass anything! Apart from a petrol station!"

Most fun bike I've had was one of these

[img] [/img]

FZR400 RR EXUP. Used to redline at something absolutely insane. More chuckable than anything on the road. The grin factor on Welsh B roads was through the roof.

I remember seeing the Britten race at Wigram in 93.
Had a half lap handicap behind the rest of the field. Was second by the end of the first lap to a big Kawasaki & did a wheel stand the length of every straight.
Such an immense machine to be built in a shed from scratch.
So tragic John Britten died so young.

Binners Hell yes people couriering them could get star ship mileage, 250,000 miles was not uncommon. Handled like a drunk camel and very unexciting but just go for ever. You have to love them.

I used to be a courier. My GSX-R would be sat amongst about 20 of the hideous things, all with those mahoosive, monsterously aftermarket ugly fairings, outside the office

They made more money than me. I had more fun! 😀

If you want the bike that's given the most to the world, it'd be the Honda C50/90. Entire 3rd world continents only function at all because of them.

Or it's the '92 Fireblade.
