[Closed] great slide guitar tunes

i'm in what could loosely be described as a band, we're looking for some new tunes to play. we mainly do fairly rocky upbeat covers, and i'm trying to come up with a song that has a bit of slide in it. any suggestions?

although I love blues it is not really what we play as a group, I think the other guys would probably fall asleep! so less blues, more rock, indie, folk, or anything really!

cheers

Pete

Can i suggest "slide" by the goo goo dolls. Its not the best track in the world, but its a catchy indy munber with some nice slideyness in it and would be quite good for a band to do IMO?

Mind you, from watching the video there is no suggestion of slide use? I used to use a slide in open G to play it though!

They ended up pretty naff, but Texas first single "To Be a Lover" had some nice slide in it.

As much as I detest the Stone Roses, I do like the slide guitar on this

DezB do you mean I dont want a lover? I can't claim to be a Texas affcianado but I don't remember "to be a lover". Top tune though.
First album - southside was awesome.

That's the one! Been off my radar for a while.

Also the Leather Nun - She Said (not on youtube, I'll try to upload it, it is awesome.)

I'll resurrect this thread when I've thought of some more!

Strawhead by Spitfire is a beauty! Also not on youtube (but it will be tomorrow)
Are you interested in instrumentals?

Not everyone's cup of tea, but it does have some slide guitar in.

Some lovely slide stuff in Ray LaMontagnes 'Empty', but after actually reading your post its not what you want to be playing.

Subtle slide, but great tune none the less.
Beck - Loser.

Foo Fighters/Dave Grohl, Seasick Steve and John Paul Jones.

Not a great recording but fairly rocky and a good line up;

i'm not sure if this is "great", but definitely an alternative use of slide guitar

If you are going for Clutch, the Gravel Road has to be the one imo:

Try anything (almost) by Ben Harper... "Roses from my friends" is a good tune. Or Xavier Rud I think that's his name anyway.

Cheers all, I have a fair few to go through there! Also just noticed the QOTSA version of Everybody's Gonna Be Happy has some rather cool slide in it
