My local team (the oldest in Lancashire)have a problem! Turton FC have gone from strength to strength in recent years thanks entirely to a great set of individuals that are working tirelessly to build the club and community around it. Their efforts seemed to have been rewarded by promotion to the highest division of the West Lancashire league coupled with redevelopment of the ground in the summer.
In preparation for the higher league some new facilities are required which could only be done in the close season. They will be ready for the new season but controversially, the club have now been denied promotion. I think the teams below Turton - Burscough etc should do the right thing and refuse promotion and ask the league that Turton have their rightful place.
Go and have a word with them?
The league have decided not to demote a second team from the division above so that's not an option! But thanks for signing! Its probably futile but we have to at least register an objection!
