I have a graphic design problem and I would really appreciate some help with it.

My business sells a wide and ever-changing range of products, which makes a conventional brochure slightly impractical. The design would date quickly, the content wouldn't be relevant to all, printing would be uneconomical.

What I really need is a relatively simple way to produce mini-brochures or bespoke proposals that could be saved as a PDF and then either emailed or printed. I need a reasonably easy-to-use format as some of my guys aren't very IT literate.

Does anybody have a recommendation for easy-to-use software?

Thanks!

Err - how about PowerPoint, especially the 2007 version?

Put all your products on a slide each and then hide the ones you are not currently selling. Then just save to PDF straight from the app.

Why do you think printing will not be economical? Digital printing is very good nowadays and perfect for your needs I would say.

And remember, put something together yourself and it will look just like that. At the very least have a professional designer create templates and stick to them. Lots of software available such as InDesign and Quark XPress but to a novice they seem very complex.

Sorry, I meant bulk printing, I have a good quality printer which will produce a decent PDF.

I wouldn't rule out templates but to be honest I am finding it impossible to get a decent graphic designer who isn't charging the earth.

Not sure I understand what you need though - what sort of runs will you be doing from your printer? Also remember to bear in mind the consumables cost for paper/toner etc for your printer.

I hope you don't charge Harrogate prices, my missus comes from Harrogate and she has been my most expensive acquisition to date ๐Ÿ˜† Nice biking round there though.

I'd need a couple of pages about the business, some general pages about the products and services we offer, and maybe a couple of templates for sales proposals - every proposal is different.

I'm away to the gym here, I'll send you an email later on!

We charge fair rates for our professional service ๐Ÿ˜‰

Not sure about the riding - with twin girls at 8 months old it has been a while since I have had the time or energy to ride ๐Ÿ™‚

I will watch out for your mail.
