I don't think I've ever been sanctimonious towards anyone who realised they'd done wrong.

I think you'll find you're the only one on here with that opinion!

I still think the signage could be better.

My position hasn't changed, but I thought you were being confused with the extra sentences.

I'd go as far to say this is mission accomplished, Molgrips.

Nice work.

Is there a 'whole forum-1' facepalm gif available anywhere Jamie?

STW needs it black and white apparently.

Saying the signage could be better doesn't mean I'm trying to get out of responsibility.

Of course the "signage could be better"

They could have a massive gantry every 100 yards made entirely out of 20 foot wide "30mph" signs.

But the signage was "standard" and perfectly adequate, like thousands of other roads all over the country.

You missed it.

It's that simple.

So, did you really get a speeding ticket or are you just having a slow week at work and thought you'd light a fire?

Disagree.

Contest the ticket in court then.

No point moaning about it on here.

Let us know how you get on.

O P Just out of interest, can you remember if you stopped at the traffic signals under the flyover ?

I've come down there and been on a green and sailed through with buses etc and it could be easy to miss the signs. Just thinking that sitting there on a red would give time to look across into the new road.

The signs are perfectly legal and the roundals on the floor don't even have to be there as a speed limit sign has to have a red circle on it and be specific sizes etc. They are there to make drivers more aware.

Everyone is human and I think we can all take some advice from this thread and prevent us going too fast.

I'm gonna dare you to make your last post a repetition of your statement above, without any buts, without any caveats:

FOR **** SAKE

IT WAS MY FAULT I MISSED THE SIGNS

Dares ya!

Hmm https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=sign&tbm=isch - I got bored, let me know how far down I have to scroll to find a streetlamp.

I'm still here to help.

You don't need to scroll at all. 🙂
satnav (presumably mounted on your windscreen)

Creating a blind spot big enough to hide a speed limit sign?

I was going down that route, but thought I'd probably pushed my point enough!
