Do they make them with just goretex or do they add all that stupid nylon padding to them?

Surely "just goretex" would be a sock, not a boot!

All I want is some converse type boots made from goretex It can't be that difficult.
I might have to do it myself

The GORE-TEX® membrane itself is only 0.01 millimeter thick.
Good luck with that. Maybe you could recycle a goretex jacket or trousers so you can have it already laminated.

Merrell do some barefoot style waterproof shoes.

With the converse style but waterproof boots, do you need off-road grippy sole?

Off road grippy soul would be good. My palladium canvas boots finally leaked with all the rain we've had in Majorca.
Bearing in mind I filled them up with water to wash the sand out and not much water leaked out.

You can get warm weather spec army surplus (or army spec) goretex desert boots that have less of the padding that UK market walking boots have.

Any colour you like so long as its beige.

Theres also a goretex version of the classic Converse Chuck Taylors available this year as part of their centenary celebrations - how available or expensive they might be I don't know though

Or look at running shoes / boots with goretex? Inov 8 Roclite boots are fairly lightweight. https://www.inov-8.com/men/shoes/trail-running/roclite-325-gtx-mens-trail-running-shoes-black

Or just get some wellies.
