[Closed] GoPro Hero 7 Black or something else?

Anyone bought the new GoPro and had a previous GoPro to compare it to?

I am looking to buy a new action camera as an upgrade to my GoPro Hero 3 Black, pro's/con's? I have heard lots of very mixed reviews on the stabilisation of the new 7 and the over selling of that feature but I guess it will be a good upgrade over the 3.

Has anyone moved from a GoPro on to another brand and suggest a move...?

Thanks

Just got one for my lad to replace a Hero 3 silver.

The footage is incredible, the stabilisation really works. He put together a video last night of him and 2 friends riding Hangman 1 in Leogang (rough and rooty) and it’s excellent.

I’ll see if I can link it here

Unless you're always chest mounting I'd look at one of these  https://singletrackworld.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/insta360-one-x-camera-the-end-to-drones-gimbals-and-possibly-gopro/

Not tried it myself though...

rocket jr has got one for his drone (from a Hero 5)

His videos involve flying very quickly in 3D so there's never really a stable image to erm stabilise IYKWIM. I guess if you're going a bit slower and not corkscrewing around abandoned buildings it would be more noticeable. However the footage looks quite professional and less 'camcorder' than the 5

And despite having a screen it's not that much bigger than the 5

It would not always be chest mounted and not just used for biking but also for work too.. I saw ST post about the Insta360 and can't wait for the feedback from Spain as they are also taking a GP7....

With reference to the above mentioned insta 360 one.

Here’s my review of the original. I think the latest one has slightly better resolution but the functions are largely the same.

Here’s a YouTube link to my lad’s vid with the camera mainly under his mate’s peak.

The video quality after uploading seems worse as it looked fantastic on his laptop but you can see the stabilisation working.

The trail is rough as hell and they are motoring
