Do you google it, or just post on STW as you’ll actually get a specific answer. Rather than the usual vague, and possibly US-centric, results in google.

depends. If its facts and something easy to google for I google. If its something obscure that its hard to make a search for ie cannot be put in a few words or its something bike related STW
If its a matter of opinions and I want to hear a variety of opinions then STW
the only legit use for g**gle is when you cannot be bothered to type in a long url directly. otherwise its for shopping

I do both. Ask question on STW, Google whilst waiting for answers. Works for all my renovation questions....
Google mostly it's quicker than waiting for somebody else to Google it quicker and more likely to come up with the right answers.
Stw for opinions and more recent conditions reports.
