"Google Earth, free software you can download to your computer, has a mind-blowing Easter egg hidden inside. Just press "Ctrl+Alt+A" on the keyboard after launching the program, and you'll find yourself flying across the globe in a flight simulator. You can choose between an F-16 fighter jet and a Cirrus SR-22 prop plane. The simulator even lets you use a joystick."
anybody got google earth to see if this is true?
The noughties want their post back
Its not really an Easter Egg - its not even hidden!

I've used this loads. Here are some tips:
When you enter flight sim mode I think it disables the 3d buildings by default. If you bring the sidebar back (view -> sidebar) then you can re-enable them and fly between new york skyscrapers or under bridges etc.
Also, if you are careful you can land on any flat ground, it doesn't have to be an airport.
Some street in London, dunno where.

covent garden you hooligan.
So how am I supposed to know the area it's in? I just looked up the street name. Areas are notoriously poorly defined...
You're laughing now but wait til the bill for the Congestion Charge drops through your letterbox Mr Grips
pub on the right.
I didn't take the F16, so I should be ok.
